CHRIST. The meaning to life.

“You broke the bonds and you loosed the chains, Carried the cross of my shame. You know I believe it. But I still ….”

Luke 24:25–27: 25And he said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! 26 Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things and enter into his glory?” 27And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself. (ESV)

I reckon it was a long walk (figuratively speaking).
I find it fascinating when I first realized that Jesus went through the whole of the Old Testament and showed them everything in them concerning Himself.
This, before the New Testament existed. It must’ve blown their minds. Here is the Risen Christ, revealing to them that basically the entire Bible (of the time) is all about Him.

John 3:30–36: 30 He must increase, but I must decrease.”

Colossians 1:15–20: 15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. 17 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. 19 For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross. (ESV)

I just love the way Paul puts it here. It’s this very high and lofty image of this glorious Christ.
It’s like he’s painting the grand, all-sweeping picture of the entire universe, both its expanse and its beginning to its end, and lifting Christ over it all.

Revelation 5:11–13: 11 Then I looked, and I heard around the throne and the living creatures and the elders the voice of many angels, numbering myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, 12 saying with a loud voice,
“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain,
to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might
and honor and glory and blessing!”

13 And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying,
“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!” (ESV)

So Jesus is the central theme of the bible, He is before all things, above all things, preeminent in everything, He is the theme of heavens praises.

Colossians 3:1–17: 17 And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. (ESV)

Pumping tyres on the car, the jobs that we have, our struggles, high’s and lows..
Everything we consider ‘great’, everything we consider ‘mundane’ – A meeting on a Tuesday night.
We try and find meaning and purpose to life, when it’s all actually Jesus.
